Purpose:

Obtain the exceptional authorization for professionals belonging to the categories of home care assistant, geriatric care worker and caregiver, who do not have the official accreditation of the qualification corresponding to their professional category in the area of ​​the community of Castilla y León.

WHO CAN APPLY FOR IT?

Workers currently employed or who have worked in the categories of home care assistant, geriatric care worker and caregiver who meet certain training or experience requirements.

What documents do I need?

Application, using the standard form, addressed to the Manager of Social Services of Castile and León.

Those interested in applying for exceptional authorization in different professional categories must complete and submit a separate application for each category.

WHAT TIME DO I HAVE TO ASK?

Open and permanent.

DEADLINE FOR RESOLUTION:

  • The deadline for resolving and publishing the resolutions will be a maximum of three months, counted from the date of registration of the application in the competent body for its processing.

NOTIFICATIONS:

  • By Postal Mail at the address of the interested party.
  • Electronic notification by appearance, by means of a notice via the e-mail address included in the application. This notice shall not have the effect of a notification until the interested party accesses the content of the notification in the NOTI notification system.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Accreditation of exceptional qualification

  • Once exceptional professional qualification has been obtained in the categories of home care assistant, geriatric care worker, and caregiver, an individual accreditation will be issued that will be valid throughout the territory of the State.

Special regime for rural areas

  • In rural areas and small rural municipalities of Castile and León, when there are no individuals with the required accreditation for the aforementioned categories, and the absence of job seekers in the area with these characteristics is certified by the corresponding Employment Office, individuals lacking the required professional qualifications may be hired until their positions can be filled by qualified professionals or until they acquire the necessary qualifications.
  • Individuals hired under these circumstances will be entitled to receive training for their qualification immediately upon joining the company, free of charge, and may use up to 20% of their working hours for this training. To this end, the competent authorities, in collaboration with companies or organizations, will promote appropriate actions to facilitate the accreditation of these professionals in the workplace.
  • For these purposes, the rural area is understood as established in article 3 of Law 45/2007, of December 13, for the Sustainable Development of the Rural Environment.

Transitional regime

  • Given that the Plenary Agreement of the Territorial Council for Social Services and the System for Autonomy and Care for Dependency, dated June 28, 2022, establishes the requirement of professional accreditation to work in the categories of home care assistant, geriatric care worker, and caregiver, it is hereby established that the submission of an application for exceptional or provisional authorization in the professional category of home care assistant, geriatric care worker, and caregiver by interested parties will allow them to continue working in the professional category of home care assistant, geriatric care worker, and caregiver from the date of submission of the application until the resolution that concludes the exceptional or provisional authorization procedures is issued.

Steps for electronic processing (online):
